I graduated from San Jose State University with a BFA in Graphic Design and a BA in Design Studies. It was a competitive program which only accepted around 24 portfolios a year. During my two years in the program, I was able to build my design foundations under very skilled and knowledgeable professors.

After college, I became a Visual Designer and Photographer at Global Star Design, which is an import/export company in the floral business. The position was very challenging but also gave me the opportunity to display most of my skill sets. I developed the initial branding and created a system to catalog all the assets and inventory. I oversaw the studio photography and designed the seasonal catalogs that were sent to our clients such as Safeway, Home Depot, and Kroger. I later helped design seasonal collections that would be displayed in Global Star Design’s showroom that clients could choose to sell at their stores. On the back end, I had to work closely with factories in different countries to get designs mass produced for US stores.

I moved to New York and pursued a career in digital marketing. I was hired by Zeta Global as a Senior Designer. I worked with many different brands and gained new insights into making creatives more functional. Here I learned about UI and UX concepts and how to incorporate them into my designs to drive more traffic. I held design workshops for our junior designers and oversaw intern development in the summers.

As a designer, I always have a thirst to learn and I believe in knowing a little about a lot. My goal as a professional is to grow with the industry and help my colleagues around me grow as well.
